Why We Gather
We’re here to make sure no Black mother feels isolated.
The Black Mom Village of Columbia, SC is a nurturing community created for and by Black mothers. We aim to uplift and support moms who don’t always get the same support as other moms. This group offers Black moms a supportive environment through authentic conversations, meaningful gatherings, and mutual support.

About The Founder
Rebekah is originally from Stamford, Connecticut and a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. She served as an Army Officer for nine years and is settled in Columbia, SC with her husband (also a veteran) and their joyful two-year-old son. After experiencing pregnancy loss far from family and friends Fall of 2025, Rebekah felt called to create a village of her own—a supportive space for Black moms to connect and thrive. A devoted Christian, she hopes this community becomes a blessing to all who join. Rebekah is currently pursuing her master’s degree to become a licensed therapist at Columbia University.
